Support Bonaire, Inc. Adds Two Board Members

BONAIRE, N.A. & NORFOLK, VA, USA – July 15, 2002 – To enhance its charter to support environmental and social efforts to improve Bonaire, the U.S. non-profit corporation has added two members to it’s Board of Directors.

Wendy Horn and Scott Barlass were asked to join current Board of Director members Jake Richter, Linda Richter, Ben Buckbinder, Kalli DeMeyer, and Jan Kloos in order to focus on planning and fundraising issues.

Wendy Horn resides on Bonaire and is President of Meritas, a worldwide alliance of 185 independent business law firms, with 4800 lawyers in 61 countries. Wendy has more than 20 years experience in professional services management, including tenure with two international accounting firms and a large regional law firm. She was a management consultant with Coopers & Lybrand in Austin, Texas and helped establish the marketing section of a large international legal network prior to her position at Meritas. She is a two-time Legal Marketing Association award recipient for innovation in services marketing, a published author on legal management topics, former officer of the Minnesota Bar Association - Practice Development Committee and a former board member of the Accounting Marketing Report. She has also had for several years a private consulting practice assisting law and accounting firms with strategic planning and management issues.

She holds a BA in English and Communication from the University of Michigan and is an avid scuba diver and sailor.

Scott Barlass resides in the United States, but will move to his Bonaire home in October 2003. Scott is President and Partner of The Axiom Group, a market research and marketing consulting firm focused on serving Fortune 500 firms such as 3M, General Mills, Clorox, and Revlon. Scott has 22 years of business and marketing management experience with Procter & Gamble, Rubbermaid, Anchor Hocking, and The Toro Company. Scott was a founding partner in The Axiom Group in 1995.

Scott holds an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Minnesota and a BA degree with dual emphasis in Psychology and Business. Scott is a PADI IDC Staff SCUBA Instructor, enjoys underwater video and photography, skiing, and sailing.
